Template Licensing

The copyright for these templates is owned by Tangent software. Purchasing Tangent Templates allows you to use these templates for all your books, even commercially without any attribution. You do NOT have permission to distribute or share these template files electronically in any way, even modified or edited.

Tangent Designer licensing

The US and international copyright for included templates and image elements is owned by Tangent Templates. We reserve all rights that aren't explicitly given to you under this license, including copyright and intellectual property rights.

Purchasing Tangent Templates licenses you to use these templates and images to create physical books (e.g. paperbacks, hardbacks, spiral bound books) on any platform including print on demand services such as KDP.

You may also redistribute them as TT Files or as 'other Digital Products' such as printables with limitations detailed below.

We reserve the right to update licensing and policy information as necessary.

TT Files

TT Files allow you to share an entire project with other Tangent Template users.

You may download your projects as 'TT Files'. These 'TT files' may be shared freely with other TT users or may be sold commercially to other TT users. You take all responsibility for such transactions.

'TT files' are only usable within Tangent Templates by paid users. You may include any number of image elements or templates generated by Tangent Templates in these projects.

You take responsibility for any additional image or text content you include in the project. Bear in mind that most users expect to be able to use these project files to create their own books or other products for commercial use so your terms of use should allow for this.

You must only include additional content that you have personally created or content where you can show proof that you have the right to distribute it for this purpose. It is your responsibility to describe your content and terms of use accurately to any users you share these files with.

If you intend or market your TT file to be used as a template for any digital or printable product (other than a physical hardback or paperback book), you must also ensure it meets all the caveats and rules below for 'Other products.'

If you include content that is in the public domain or content that has been generated using Artificial Intelligence tools, that must be clearly indicated to any user you share it with.

Any additional images included by you will only be available in this project. If you would like users to have full access to your images so that they can use them in other projects, you can provide them separately in an additional file.

You may not share your Tangent Templates login information with any other person.

Other Digital Products

The following applies to printables and digital downloads. It does not apply to physical paperback or hardback books and it does not apply to TT project files.

You may use Tangent Templates to create 'printable' pages, downloads or electronic books in PDF or other file formats with some caveats.

If you use a TT file provided by another user as a template to create your product, it remains your responsibility to ensure the finished product complies with these caveats.

1) You may not market your digital products in any way which directly competes with Tangent Templates. Primarily, this means you must not sell them as templates for any resale product. They must only be sold as end-user products (for example a set of worksheets for use by a teacher or a planner that a user may print for personal use).

2) If you would like to distribute templates for KDP or other resale platforms, you may do so using TT files as described above.

Rules for including our full page templates in digital products:

In addition to the above:

1) You may not redistribute our full page templates or image files individually.

2) If you use our full page templates in a digital product, you must modify them. This means at a minimum, you must change the wording on the templates (if there is wording) AND add at least one large graphic element to them (for example, a background watermark image).

3) You may not use more than five different full page templates in any one downloadable product, but you may repeat these pages as often as you like.

4) If you include pages with one large or featured TT image element (for example, our Debt Snowball table or Mileage chart, or a large version of one of our characters as a coloring page), you must treat it as a full page template and follow the above rules. It's fine to include multiple small images on pages as accents or decorations on your pages.

5) College rule, wide rule, 4x4 and 5x5 graph paper, dot grid paper and sheet music are excluded from these rules. They may be included in your projects without modification.

General Usage Policy

You may not use Tangent Templates to generate illegal or hateful content for any platform.

It is your responsibility to understand the rules of any platform you use and to ensure that any content you distribute or sell complies with them. You remain responsible for ensuring that the content of your product is appropriate and safe for the platform you are selling it on and legal in the jurisdictions you are working in.

You may not imply that Tangent Templates endorses your product.

You may not share your Tangent Templates login information with any other person.
